How to Manage Notifications in Flow
Purpose: Control when and how you receive notifications about activity in Flow.
Two types of notifications:
A. Push notifications (when you are NOT in the app):

Standard phone notification

Shows who sent the message and the first line of the message

Tap the notification → opens the chat directly
B. In-app notifications (when you ARE in the app):

Small “bubble” that pops up at the top
-
Example: “Dan just messaged you – do you want to go there?”

Tap the bubble → jumps directly to the message
How to manage notification settings:

Tap the three dots in the top-right corner
-
Select “Settings”
-
Select “Notifications”
-
Choose your preferences:
-
Activity in all channels: Get notifications from all channels or only selected ones

When you are mentioned: Receive notification when someone tags you with @
-
When added to a channel: Notification when you are added as a member
-
Weekly email: Receive a weekly summary of activity in Flow
-
What triggers notifications:
-
Someone sends you a direct message
-
You are tagged in a message (@mention)
-
New post on a bulletin board
-
New message in a channel you follow
-
Someone replies to your post/message
