How to Link to Inspectly Content (Inspectly Link)

Purpose: Link directly to projects, files, drawings, and subprojects in your messages.

What you can link to:

  • Projects (entire projects)

  • Subprojects

  • Project files (files specific to a single project)

  • Global files (files available across all projects)

  • Drawings (direct link to a specific drawing)

Step-by-step:

  1. Open a conversation, channel, direct message, or create a post

  2. Tap the message field

  3. Find the Inspectly icon (next to the attachment icon)

  4. Choose what you want to link to:

    • Project/Subproject

    • Project files

    • Global files

    • Drawings

  5. Select the specific item you want to link

  6. The link will be inserted into your message

  7. Optionally, add text around the link

  8. Send the message

When the recipient receives the message:

  • They can click the link

  • They are taken directly to the item in Inspectly (project, file, drawing, etc.)

Example uses:

  • Project manager to electrical team: “Changes made on [link to drawing E-304 rev. 2] – check section 3 and confirm you’ve seen it.”

  • QHSE manager in a post: “New safety instruction: [link to global file: Safety Instruction 2025] – read before Monday.”

  • Foreman to project manager: “Missing items registered here: [link to subproject X → Missing]”

Why it’s powerful:

  • No confusion about “which file are you talking about?”

  • Recipient gets direct access to the document

  • All communication stays in context
