New Report Generator 🎉

We have developed an entirely new report generator, ensuring that we stay up to date with technology. This makes it easier to maintain the engine, minimize errors, and develop new features for our prints and reports in the future - benefiting all our customers 😊

In this process, our reports have also received a facelift, and we have made some adjustments to make future reports even better and easier to work with. However, you will still receive the same data you are accustomed to.

When will the new generator be released?

The new report generator will be released to all accounts in groups. When your turn is coming up, you’ll receive a notification on the administration page above our chat. So, if you’ve found this article but haven’t received a notification yet, simply wait - it’s on its way.

General info about the new generator:

• Enhanced Design & Professional Layout
• Improved Quality of Drawings and Images
• Table of Contents with Page Numbers & Shortcuts (using our "Table of Contents" paragraph type)
• Document Overview & Drawing Overview with Shortcuts to specific attachments in the report (similar to the Table of Contents, excluding page numbers)

NOTE! The new report generator will initially be launched for reports only. This means it will apply to printouts made via "Generate reports" ➜ "Print as PDF":

As soon as the new report generator has been released to all customers, we will also implement it for report previews/examles and single printouts.

Single printouts means if you print via the preview of a registration or select registrations and print them from the registration overview, as shown below:

Report previews/examples means if you generate a sample report from within the Report Designer/report template, as shown below:

Special Considerations for Attachments – Drawings and Files:

• The paragraph types "Overview" and "Include" will be merged into one

  • This way, you no longer have to check the same boxes twice when generating a report

• We are introducing the setting "Show document overview"/"Show drawing overview" - these overviews will include shortcuts to the specific attachments

• NOTE! This may result in "gaps" in paragraph numbers, which our customers will need to adjust manually in the report templates - however, we are, of course, ready to provide guidance and support if needed!

In the new generator, the paragraph types "Overview" and "Include" have been merged into the one same paragraph, "Include." This paragraph type now features an additional setting, "Show document overview"/"Show drawing overview", which controls whether an overview should be included at the beginning of the paragraph.

This means that the paragraph types "Document overview" and "Drawing overview" will be discontinued and ignored when generating reports in the new generator. Instead, only the paragraph types "Include documents" and "Include drawings" will be used, along with the new setting.

When/if you create new report templates after the new generator is released, you might as well omit the Overview-paragraph, as it will no longer have any effect on the generated report.
