General information about user categories
To ensure a good overview of your users across your organization, user categories can be utilized. User categories are used to classify your users based on the department they are associated with in your organization or the teams your employees work in. User categories might look like the example in the image below:
In this example, your user categories are divided into teams based on the workgroups an organization uses.
Create user categories
Account ➜ Users ➜ Internal ➜ Create ➜ User category
Enter the name of the user category ➜ Assign users to the user category ➜ Create
Name of user category:
When creating a user category, you need to decide on the name for your user category. It makes sense to use names that reflect how your internal users operate in practice. For example, you could create user categories named Administration, Concrete, Paving, Earthworks, etc.
Assign users to the user category:
Following the names you have given your user categories, you now need to assign your internal users to these categories. In practice, this means assigning your internal users to the user categories that match the areas they work in.
Finish by clicking Create.
Add a user to a user category
If you wish to add a user to a user category, there are several ways to do this. The different methods will now be reviewed.
Account ➜ Users ➜ Internal
Add a user via user category
If you have created user categories and wish to add internal users to them, you can do the following.
Click on the pencil icon to the right of the desired user category.
Assign users to the user category ➜ Save
Add a user via the user's master data
Click on the pencil icon to the right of the desired user.
User category ➜ Select a user category ➜ Save
