Our SharePoint integration is an add-on available directly in the Marketplace on your Inspectly account. It is easy and quick to set up and does not require a dedicated IT employee. However, if you need assistance and guidance, please contact Inspectly Support.

General information about the integration
The purpose of this SharePoint integration is to minimize the amount of file management in Inspectly, saving you time and reducing the risk of errors related to uploading, editing, and managing important files.
Through the integration, you can designate files and folders in SharePoint to be automatically synchronized with Inspectly. This means you only need to keep the files in SharePoint up-to-date, and we’ll handle the rest automatically.
Good to know about the integration:
- The integration runs every 3 hours.
- It only works for Global files in Inspectly (not project-specific files).
- Both files and folders from SharePoint are synchronized.
- Files larger than 100 MB will not be synchronized.
- If there is already content in the Inspectly folder connected to SharePoint, it will be overwritten by the content from SharePoint.
- On the admin page, documents from SharePoint are marked with the SharePoint logo for easy identification.
- When opening a SharePoint document on Inspectly's admin page, you can click "Edit in SharePoint" - making it easy to update synchronized files (editing the SharePoint file is of course only possible if you have permissions to do so in Microsoft 365).
Purchase the SharePoint integration
Marketplace ➜ All Products ➜ Sharepoint ➜ Purchase ➜ Check the box ➜ Confirm Purchase ➜ Setup
Click on the Marketplace icon at the top right of the admin page, select "All Products", and then choose "SharePoint" under the Integrations section:
Click the "Purchase" button:
Check the box and click "Confirm Purchase". You have now purchased the SharePoint integration and can click "Setup" to go to the setup page.
By clicking "Setup," you will be taken directly to the Inspectly page for the SharePoint integration, where you can configure the integration and select which folders to synchronize with Inspectly. Read more about this in the next section.
Set up the SharePoint integration
When setting up the SharePoint integration for the first time after purchase, you must activate the integration by signing in to your Microsoft account and allowing access between Inspectly and SharePoint. This requires a Microsoft 365 administrator.
Afterward, any Administrator in Inspectly with access to the integration page can edit the setup. If you wish to restrict access for certain Administrators, this can be done via User Group settings.
Step 1: Sign in to Microsoft account
NOTE! This step requires an employee from your company who is a Microsoft 365 administrator.
Click on "Sign in with Microsoft":
Log in or select an account, then click "Accept" on the permissions page:
Step 2: Select SharePoint folders to sync
You now need to select which folders from your SharePoint will be synchronized and thus available in Inspectly. All files from the selected folders will then be accessible under Global Files in Inspectly.
- Choose the SharePoint site in Microsoft 365 that contains the folders you want to synchronize.
- Select the folders from your SharePoint site that you wish to synchronize with Inspectly.
- Then click "Next".
NOTE! When you select a folder, all subfolders will automatically be synchronized as well. If you only want specific subfolders, do not check the main folder.
Step 3: Select location of SharePoint folders in Inspectly
You now need to choose where in Global Files in Inspectly the SharePoint folders (and thus the files) should be placed. The folders in Global Files where you wish to place the SharePoint folders must be created in advance before they can be selected in this step.
NOTE! Do not select folders that already contain files, as these will be overwritten, leaving only the SharePoint files in the selected folder.
- Next to each folder name, select from the dropdown menu which folder in Inspectly the respective SharePoint folder should be placed in.
- Click "Complete setup" and the synchronization will begin.
Your selected folders from SharePoint will now automatically synchronize with your chosen folders in Inspectly.
Edit setup / Remove integration
Account ➜ Integrations ➜ Integrations ➜ SharePoint ➜ Edit setup / Remove integration
You can access the integration page in Inspectly at any time after purchase to set up the SharePoint integration. On the same page, you can also edit the setup as needed.
Click "Edit setup" to change the configuration of which SharePoint folders are synchronized into Inspectly and where they are placed under Global Files.
Click "Remove integration" if you want to completely stop the integration and start over.
NOTE! If you edit your setup and remove one or more folders, the existing content will remain in Inspectly until you manually delete it. However, synchronization will stop, so these folders will no longer be updated with any new content from SharePoint.
Access files in SharePoint through Inspectly
In Inspectly, a neat feature has been added to the integration, making it easy to go directly from Inspectly to update the file in SharePoint.
Changes made through this flow are, of course, synchronized as usual.
NOTE! Editing the file in SharePoint will only be possible if you have the necessary permissions in Microsoft 365, so there is no risk of unauthorized access to the files.
If a user does not have access to the specific SharePoint site in Office 365, they will simply see the Microsoft message, "You do not have permission to open this document," when attempting to click "Edit in SharePoint" within Inspectly.
