Create a new project

In this article, we will walk you through how to create a new project from start to finish.

Create a new project

Your Projects ➜ Project Overview ➜ Hover over "Create" ➜ Click on "Project"

Add project information

Here you must at least select the Project Name and Start Date. Additionally, you can assign a case number, specify an end date, and provide the address where the project will take place.

Create a project structure

If you want to divide the project into different subprojects, you can click on "Create Subproject", allowing you to create one or more subprojects and thus establish your project structure.

Note: It is possible to create and edit the project structure later, once the project has been completed.

Create a Subproject

If you want to create only one subproject or at least one at a time, select the "Create a Subproject" tab. Here you can enter the name of your subproject and click on "Create," after which it will appear in the project structure on the left side.

Create multiple subprojects

If you want to create multiple subprojects at once, click on the "Create Multiple Subprojects" tab. Then you can select:

  1. Number of subprojects: Choose how many subprojects you want to create in total
  2. Enter name: Choose the basic designation for the subprojects, e.g., "Floor"
  3. Set the numbering of the subprojects:
    • Choose whether the subprojects should be designated with numbers or letters
    • Choose whether the format should be "No. + Name" or "Name + No."
    • Also, decide which number or letter to start with and whether you want to skip every other number/letter or not.
  4. Click on "Create"

Example: If you choose the name "Floor," the numbering type "Number," and the format "Name + No.," the subprojects will be named "Floor 1," "Floor 2," "Floor 3," and so on.

Delete or rename subproject

If you want to delete or rename one of the subprojects you have created, click on the three dots to the right of the subproject and choose either "Delete" or "Rename."

Add subprojects to a subproject

If you want to create additional subprojects under a subproject, thereby adding more levels to the project structure, simply click on a subproject so that it is highlighted in gray and then use the same procedure as previously described for creating subprojects.

This way, you can create the following project structure, for example:

Add users

Add the users who need access to the project. You select the users by checking the box to the right of their names. If you want to assign an entire user category, you can check the box in the blue tab, which will mark all users in that category.

If you have many users, you can search for the relevant ones you want to assign to the project either by typing part of the user's name in the search field (1) or by filtering the list by profession groups (2):

Customise the project menu

Select which modules should be active on the project. For example, if you are not using standard Photo Documentation on this project, it makes sense to deactivate it so that the project overview in the app and on the administration page only shows relevant modules, preventing incorrect registrations in unwanted modules.

Inspection

If the project is to be used for service inspections, you can quickly and easily create it as an external location in the Global tab by checking the box to the right of "Also create as an external location." If you are NOT using the Inspection module, leave the box unchecked.

Place in project folder

If you want to place the project in a project folder, you can select which one by checking the box to the left of it. If you haven't created any project folders yet or if you want to create an additional folder for this project, you can click on "Create Project Folder" directly from this overview and name your new folder. You can also create subfolders for existing folders.

Create the project

Click on "Create Project" to complete your new project or click on "Previous" if you want to go back and review/change something in the steps you have gone through.

Note: It is also possible to edit all information after the project has been completed.

Complete the project setup

Once the project is created, it’s time to finalize the setup to make sure the project is ready for use!

Add checklists, create a control plan, upload drawings, assign external users, etc. We will help you remember everything if you follow our Project Checklist, which appears on the right side of the screen on your new project.
