Attaching Files, Images, and Videos

How to Attach Files, Images, and Videos

Purpose: Share visual material and documentation directly within your communication.

Step-by-step:

  1. Open a conversation, channel, or create a post

  2. Tap the message field

  3. Tap the attachment icon (bottom-left)

  4. Choose the source:

    • Camera: Take a photo/video directly

    • Gallery: Select existing images/videos from your phone

    • Files: Upload documents, PDFs, etc. from your phone

  5. Select the file/image

  6. The file is attached to the message

  7. Optionally, add text to the file

  8. Send the message

Difference between attachment and Inspectly link:

Attachment:

  • Upload a NEW image/file as part of the message

  • Ideal for: New photos from the construction site, handwritten notes, documents not yet in Inspectly

Inspectly link:

  • Link to a file that ALREADY exists in Inspectly’s file archive

  • Ideal for: Existing drawings, approved documents, project files

Example uses:

  • Foreman takes a photo of completed work and sends it in the project channel

  • Subcontractor uploads a drawing with handwritten notes and sends it to the project manager

  • QHSE manager attaches a photo of a safety hazard in the safety channel

  • Project manager sends a PDF with meeting minutes in the project room
